Hakka is a small company established in 2004. They produce kitchen appliances for hotels and restaurants which means that they produce commercial kitchen appliances.
They are mostly focused on food processing appliances like mixers, grinders, fryers, stoves, and other kitchen appliances.
Electric smokers aren’t on the list of main appliances they produce but that doesn’t mean they aren’t made with the same quality as their main products.
The Hakka electric smoker is commercial-grade which means they are very durable and made for restaurants and caterings.
That also means they are large capacity with adjustable cooking grids.
That is the reason I wouldn’t recommend any Hakka smoker if you want to cook only for your family or a small group of friends.
Those smokers are made for large groups of people and that means you won’t be able to use them efficiently. Most of them have a minimum amount of food that needs to be in the smoker to be used correctly.
But, if you are looking for an electric smoker for your restaurant or catering business, then feel free to read my reviews to see which of the two Hakka electric smokers is the best one for you.
They are very similar and you will notice that their differences are minor. When it comes to quality they are both great.
Best Hakka Electric Smoker Reviews:
This is the biggest Hakka electric stainless steel smoker on the market and it is very impressive.
Inside of the smoker, you can put 8 cooking grids which are almost double the number of regular smokers.
That is not surprising when you remember that this is a commercial electric smoker.
The design of this smoker is simple, it is completely made of stainless steel but the interior is well-insulated so the smoke and the heat are retained inside of the smoker.
The 8 adjustable grids are there so you can smoke everything from cheese and vegetables to ribs and jerky.
The dimensions inside the smoker are 42×13.5×12.5 inches which is good for commercial use, but too much for homes unless you want to feed half the neighborhood.
The temperature range this smoker can produce is 0°F – 275°F which is surprisingly low. This is beneficial for cold smoking items but may be a little low to get crispy skin on chicken while smoking.
The smoker has a digital timer that has an auto shut down option you can adjust between 0-3 hours.
If you are interested in smoking all kinds of food during business hours that is a good option.
When you are done with smoking you can remove the water and drip trays and clean them separately which makes the entire cleaning process much easier.
Also, you don’t have to worry about adding wood chips because the smoker has a conveniently put a side wood chip tray.
The Hakka electric stainless steel smoker is convenient for restaurants and catering but I wouldn’t recommend it for homes.
It is just too big and you can get better and more quality smokers for the same price.
- Auto shut down option.
- Removable drip and water trays.
- 8 cooking grids.
- For commercial use.
All Versions of Hakka Electric Smokers:
The biggest Hakka electric smoker is the one I have reviewed just above this paragraph.
I have mentioned that it is for commercial usage and the second model is also made for commercial use but it is smaller than this one.
As you can see it is very easy to mistake one Hakka electric smoker for the other because they have similar names.
The only difference is in the code. The bigger one is Hakka electric stainless steel smoker – DSH-S03L and the smaller one is DSH-S03 but without L in the end.
The smaller electric smoker has only 4 cooking grids which are more convenient for its size than 8 grids.
Even though it is a smaller smoker it has the better option for the auto shut down because you can choose 0-12 hours time.
It is a smaller smoker, but it is still a commercial one so I wouldn’t recommend it for homes.
It is always important to have a source of spare parts for your electric smokers especially if they are part of your restaurants or catering businesses.
Unfortunately, people behind Hakka smokers didn’t produce as many electric smokers as other appliances which meant they don’t produce spare parts.
Due to that, you have to look for universal spare parts for your smoker, and to do that you have to know the dimensions of the part that is broken and the model of the smoker you have.
That way you can easily find a third company part that can fit in your smoker.
There are many accessories you can use with your commercial electric smokers to improve their performance or to make the entire process you have to do to prepare the meat faster and due to that,
I want you to check out my post about Electric smokers accessories because there you can find what you need to be faster around your electric smoker.
Hakka is an OK brand but I believe that they are mostly focused on the most popular kitchen appliances because that is what dictates the market.
I know that they produce commercial electric smokers but I wouldn’t recommend any smoker from their brand for home-usage.
They are not very cheap and for that money, you can find smaller and more convenient electric smokers for you.
Commercial smokers are just too big and too extreme for you to have a properly relaxed smoker like the ones made for the family and friends.
